Tasmania leads the national fight against road deaths

As Tasmania hosts the 11th National Road Safety Week, landmarks around Australia will be lit up in yellow to remember those affected by road trauma.

As Tasmania hosts the 11th National Road Safety Week, landmarks around Australia will be lit up in yellow to remember those affected by road trauma.

National Road Safety Week will be held from the 5-12 May and is an initiative of the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, established by Peter Frazer after his 23-year-old daughter was tragically killed in a preventable road crash.

The Tasmanian Government is eager for our State to host National Road Safety Week and take our own road safety messages to a national audience.

This year’s theme is Drive So Others Survive. Tasmanians can pledge to drive safely at www.roadsafetyweek.com.au and show support by wearing a yellow ribbon, which are available from Service Tasmania and RACT outlets statewide.
