Spirit of Tasmania update

Spirit IV

Work by TT-Line’s specialist broker continues to explore options for leasing or charter of the Spirit IV vessel.

Various interested parties recently travelled to Leith to tour the vessel, with discussions ongoing.

Advice is expected to be received by the end of the month at which point a decision will be made.

There have been no further changes or updates to the berthing or crewing costs or arrangements.

Work has now returned to full swing following the Christmas New Year shutdown.

Pile work is nearing completion with preparation well underway for initial waterside concrete pouring to form the piles to commence shortly.

Once the concrete starts to flow, the full scope of the new facility will begin to become much more visible to the public passing by the location.

Tourism and Hospitality Support Package

Work is continuing to finalise guidelines and processes for the remaining elements of our tourism support package with further information to be released on specific initiatives in due course.

We continue to work closely with key industry representatives and organisations as each part of the package is developed.

Earlier this week, a new $5 million Aviation Attraction Fund opened, which will increase domestic flights to and from Tasmania and enhance the potential for new international routes for locals and visitors alike.

This Fund will drive visitation – boosting our local economy, supporting jobs and creating more opportunities for Tasmanians.

The $5 million Tasmanian Festival and Event Support Fund has proven extremely popular with 16 applications already received.

The program is designed to boost regional visitation and strengthen the Tasmanian economy during the shoulder and winter months from March to November 2025 and 2026 with one-off grants of between $10,000 and $450,000 over two years.

Applications will remain open until Friday, 30 May 2025 unless all available funds are allocated earlier.
