In 2015 the Tasmanian Government requested Infrastructure Tasmania undertake an audit of the State’s road management and maintenance arrangements. With 36 000 kilometres of road network, our roads are Tasmania’s biggest infrastructure asset, with an estimated replacement value of almost $7 billion.
The results of the audit were published in March 2016, along with the 10 year Infrastructure Investment Plan for State Roads.
The recommendations outlined in the report are being implemented with the respective road owners. For more information - State of our Roads report (PDF)
