Defence Industry Tender Support Program

Tasmanian industry’s capability to meet the demands of the defence and security sector has increased significantly in recent years. Contracts that contribute to multi-billion dollar projects are increasingly attainable to the wide range of niche advanced manufacturers and advanced technology enterprises that now thrive in this state.

The Defence Industry Tender Support Program, a key component of the new Tasmanian Defence Industry Strategy 2029 (PDF 2.7 MB), aims to assist existing defence and security suppliers, as well as those that are hoping to enter that market.

This program provides companies with the opportunity to utilise a consultancy, or other external service, which can be an essential part of enhancing a business’s chance of success when developing a submission to an Approach to Market for a defence or related security sector procurement.

Key features

• Funding is available to Tasmanian-based advanced manufacturing enterprises, and Tasmanian-based advanced technology enterprises, to engage professional bid and tender writing services to prepare defence tenders.
• Grants will be provided on a co-contribution basis.
• Maximum grant available is $30,000.
• Applications will be assessed in the order that they are received and the round will remain open until allocated funding is exhausted.

The application process has been designed to be straightforward, quick, and not require third party assistance.
