Farm Debt Support

Before mediation, farmers are strongly encouraged to seek professional legal and financial advice so they are in the best possible position going into a mediation as this will likely lead to a better outcome. The Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS) Tasmania offers free and private support to farmers facing financial problems. They can help farmers get ready for mediation and take care of any tasks needed afterward. More details are available on Rural Business Tasmania’s website.

A 'Support for Farmers' information sheet  (PDF 128.3 KB)has been prepared that outlines some of the various support resources you may wish to access while participating in Farm Debt Mediation.
