Skills Response Unit
The Skills Response Unit addresses skills and labour shortages in particular where a skills bottleneck is an impediment to business growth.
It coordinates the various state and federal government departments, employer and employee peak bodies, training providers, labour hire organisations and other key stakeholders to provide assistance and support.
The Skills Response Unit also provides an immediate response where a business or industry downsizes or closes by coordinating services and support for the employees.
It can also initiate discussions with the specific business or industry leaders or management and coordinate consultation with other employers that have skill or labour shortages to enable the ongoing employment of staff.
