The Energy Policy Branch provides policy advice on energy issues to the Tasmanian Government so that energy can be harnessed as a key economic driver for the State.
The State's Energy Strategy is an important first step in our push to strengthen Tasmania's reputation of having a competitive advantage in the delivery of efficient, reliable and affordable energy for the benefit for all Tasmanians.
This will help provide relief to consumers and help grow the economy, attract new investment, retain industry and secure jobs.
We also represent Tasmania's views and interests on energy matters to national policy and regulatory bodies and administer assigned energy programs and major initiatives.
The Branch also provides input into the development of the framework for the regulation of industry participants in Tasmania’s energy industry.
