Proposed extension of the Regional Forest Agreement

The Tasmanian Government’s plan to rebuild the forest industry is working – confidence is up, investment is up, production is up, exports are up and hundreds of jobs have been created since the dark days of the Labor-Green accord.

We need to maintain that positive momentum, and the Liberal commitment to a 20-year rolling extension of the Regional Forest Agreement is one of the key essentials for future growth.

We are working with the Commonwealth to make it happen and Tasmanians are being invited to have their say.

In addition to planned consultation with key stakeholders, there will be opportunities for public participation through drop-in centres at Huonville, Burnie and Scottsdale in December.

The drop-in centres will enable people who are interested to find out more about the process and offer suggestions about improvements which will be considered as part of the extension of the Tasmanian RFA.

The drop-in centre details:

Huonville, Monday 5 December 2016, 4.00pm - 7.30pm at the Peach and Plum Rooms Huon LINC, 1 Skinner Drive.

Burnie, Wednesday 7 December 2016, 4.00pm -7.30pm at Wellers Inn, 36 Queen St.

Scottsdale, Thursday 8 December 2016 at The LINC, 51 King St.
